John P. Plow, O.D.
Dr. John P. Plow, a Rochester native, has been practicing in Horesheads for over 20 years of his 25 year career. Dr. Plow, President of The Vision Center, opened the practice in 2007 in it's former location in the Shops at Chambers. In March 2014, due to phenomenal growth, The Vision Center moved to a brand new state of the art office on Colonial Drive. The new office is almost double the size of the former location and offers an enhanced selection of eyeglasses and contact lenses as well as a larger lens fabrication lab, additional exam rooms and patient spaces.
Dr. Plow received his Doctor of Optometry degree from The State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan in 1996. John lives in Big Flats with his wife Julie and sons Jacob and Nicholas. Dr. Plow is a member of the American Optometric Association, the New York State Optometric Association and the Southern Tier Optometric Association.
Michael J. O'Connor, O.D.
Born and raised in Hammondsport, on Keuka Lake, Dr. O'Connor has returned to the Southern Tier to practice Optometry. After taking his last High School year at Corning Community College, he was accepted into the SUNY 3 + 4 Pre-Optometry Program. Starting at SUNY Geneseo, he graduated from the SUNY Optometry College in Manhattan in 2010. His training included a 6 month externship to the Baltimore VA Hospital Eye Clinic. Dr. O'Connor started work at The Vision Center in March of 2011 and is dedicated to providing expert patient care.
Raymond J. Mint, O.D.
Dr. Raymond Mint was born and raised in nearby Sayre, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Sayre High School, Ray attended Ithaca College. He next headed to the Midwest to continue his education at the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana. Upon graduation, Ray stayed in the Midwest for several years before returning to the Southern Tier and eventually joining Dr. Plow and Dr. O’Connor at The Vision Center.
Ray lives in rural Danby, NY with his wife, daughter, and an ever changing roster of pets.
